Patchwork Sew-Along Wrap Up!

What a fun few weeks we shared together making duffles! I have loved seeing your finished bags pop up on Instagram! Thank you for sharing and for sewing with me!

I’m so excited to share some fun additions that Makers made during the sew along and wanted to credit them and link to them so you could reference back to these fun ideas and additions for any of your future Patchwork Duffle making!

INSIDE POCKET ADDITION

I loved this idea of adding a mesh pockets to the inside of the End Panels. Mesh is a great way to add a pocket without adding more bulk into your seams! You can bind the mesh with a fold over elastic or just a piece of cotton fabric. @_indoor_cat shared photos of her addition! check her Instagram out here. You can get mesh and fold over elastic in ByAnnie’s Shop.

BOTTOM ACCENT

I love this addition to the pattern It adds a fun contrast, structure, and keeps the bottom of your bag clean! Especially if you are using the waxed canvas like the bag shown below. This bag was made by Jordan from @Jordan.porterhandmade Isn’t it so darling! Thank you Jordan!

TROLLEY/LUGGAGE SLEEVE

Chrystie from @kainani.handmade was so generous to share videos of how she added a luggage sleeve to her Patchwork Duffle bag! You can find those videos in her Instagram profile highlights titled Trolley Sleeve.

INSIDE KEYCHAIN

Nicole from @patchworkduck added a keychain loop on the inside of her bag. It is perfect for use of an Apple AirTag, or clipping on your keys to they don’t get lost in your bag! Love this simple addition. I have some ½” hardware sets available in different hardware colors in my shop that would work perfectly for this.

And last but not least a CARRYING STRAP PAD

Rachel from @quiltyweft shared about a carrying strap pad addition to her Carrying Strap! Such a great idea for carrying such a large bag! I did find a great FREE tutorial for a carrying strap and strap pad addition over at ByAnnie, so you can check that out here.

Thank you to all the makers above for letting me share there photos! And thank you for being here for such an incredible bag sewing event. Did you have another bag addition that you what to share? Did you have a favorite part of the sew along? Comment below, I’d love to know.
