Goody Goody Binding Kit

I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to meet Vanessa while attending quilt market in Pittsburgh last year! She is adorable, and I’m grateful that we have become friends! I am excited to share with you today this sweet little binding kit that she has posted a tutorial for on her blog!
The instructions were fabulous and very easy to follow! My fabric pick came from a few different lines. I mixed a a few Moda prints with some lovely Gooseberry fabric, which Vanessa designed and will be shipping to stores in October!

I was so excited when Vanessa asked me before Market to make her a bag for her booth! I made this Carry-On Travel bag. It is one of Annie’s patterns! It just so happens, that I had just enough quilted fabric left over to make my Goody Goody Binding Kit!

So the first thing I did a little different from the tutorial was use Soft and Stable instead of batting. I really like the stability that it added to the binding case!

I did make one more minor change as I made this case, I simply cut my binding 2 1/4” instead of 2 1/2”. I like my binding to be tight when it wraps around the edge. I also sewed my binding on the inside of the case and topstitched it down on the front. (Of course I used a million wonder clips in the whole process.)

And there you go! A finished Goody goody binding kit to hold all your binding essentials!
