Duffle Sew-along 2024 Week 1

Week 1: Collecting Supplies and Cutting Patchwork

Welcome to the Duffle Sew-along 2024 for the Patchwork Duffle and
Patchwork Duffle Mini patterns! This week we'll focus on collecting all
the supplies you need for your bag and cutting the squares for
your patchwork (if you're making a patchwork bag). If you haven't already, get the newest versions of the patterns using the links below.

If you missed the Instagram Live where Kaitlyn walks through a few of the updates in the new versions of the two patterns, provides tips for this week's steps, and answers questions from viewers, you can click the video below to watch the replay on-demand.

Let's get started with this week's steps! You have a few choices to make that will inform the supplies you'll need for your bag:

I've tried to show photos of all the variations of options you will have when putting together your supplies for your duffle bags to help you decide how you'd like it to look when it's finished.

Here's a few links that might make things much simpler for you. The first set is the for the finishing kits for each of the bags. With these kits, you'll get everything you need (minus fabric) to make your bag. Make sure you check the options for each item to select the variations you want.

If you're just starting out with bag making, I'd recommend getting a few notions to make the process easier for you. You can get all of my favorites in one bundle with the Bag Making Tools Starter Kit. I use these tools nearly every time I make a bag, and they help things go more smoothly for me.

If you want a quick way to chain piece patchwork, check out this tutorial on YouTube. This method makes sewing those squares super quick.

Feel free to share your fabric pull and supplies on Instagram using the hashtag #DuffleSewAlong2024 and have a peek at other makers' progress.
